  • What is California Credit Union's Pay Card?

    The California Credit Union Pay Card is a reusable pre-paid debit card exclusively for LAUSD employees. With the Pay Card, your pay is automatically loaded onto your card, ready to use, on each payday. You can use your Pay Card to withdraw cash at ATMs, retailers that offer cash back and any California Credit Union branch. The Pay Card also enables you to make purchases without cash anywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted.

  • How do I sign up for a Pay Card?

    Here is how you can sign up for a Pay Card:

    To enroll, you will need your LAUSD Employee Identification Number, your Social Security or Tax ID number, your current mailing address, and your LAUSD email address.

  • I don't know my LAUSD email address. How do I get it?

    Please contact LAUSD IT Help Desk at (213) 241-5200 for your LAUSD email address.

  • I don't know my Employee Identification Number. How do I get it?

    LAUSD Personnel, Human Resources, or your Supervisor can provide you with your Employee Identification Number.

  • How can I contact California Credit Union's Pay Card Customer Service?

    You can check your balance and see recent transactions 24/7 through Digital Banking here, the CCU Mobile App, or by calling California Credit Union's automated Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372. Our representatives are happy to assist you through live chat or by phone at (855) 528-7372 Monday – Friday, 7AM – 7PM PDT and Saturday, 9AM – 3PM PDT.

  • What kind of information can I get on the automated Pay Card Access System, from a Representative, or through Digital Banking?

    Digital and Mobile Banking:

  • When will my paycheck be deposited onto the card?

    Your pay will be deposited to your Pay Card as soon as we receive the direct deposit, which is generally one day before your scheduled payday.

  • Do I have to withdraw my entire pay on payday?

    You may use your Pay Card to withdraw any portion of your available balance  as often as you like anywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted, at point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and at ATMs. For safety reasons, we encourage you to only take out the cash you need to have on hand.

    Please remember that you can make fee-free withdrawals from any California Credit Union, CO-OP or Allpoint ATM. Other ATMs may charge a fee or place a limit on how much you can withdraw at one time. You can access a list of fee-free ATMs here.

  • How can I withdraw my entire paycheck if I need it?

    You can withdraw your entire paycheck from any California Credit Union ATM or branch, free of charge.

  • Will I get a new Pay Card every pay period?

    No. Upon enrollment, you will be sent your Pay Card, which is a Visa-branded reusable debit card. Each payday, your entire pay will be loaded onto your Pay Card. If you withdraw all your funds, please keep the card, which will be credited with your pay on your next payday so you can access your funds.

  • Can my Pay Card have joint ownership with my spouse?

    No. All Pay Cards will be issued in your name only, similar to how your paycheck is issued in only your name.

  • How can I verify my paycheck is accurate after I enroll in the Pay Card or direct deposit?

    You can access your Time Statement and Online Pay Stub 24/7 by logging in to the LAUSD Employee Self Service website here: https://selfservice.lausd.net

  • Can anyone from LAUSD see how I spend my money?

    No. LAUSD employees cannot see the details of how you spend your money.

  • Will I receive monthly statements?

    Yes, you will receive monthly eStatements for your Pay Card, which can be accessed through California Credit Union’s Digital Banking. To access your eStatement, log in to your Digital Banking account at ccu.com or through the CCU Mobile App.

  • Who should I contact if my pay isn’t correct?

    Please contact the LAUSD Customer Service Center at 213-241-6670 from 8am - 5pm.

  • What do I do if my card isn’t working?

    If your Pay Card isn’t working, please call California Credit Union’s Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372 and speak with a Representative or visit a California Credit Union branch.

  • How do I get my name or address changed on this account?

    You can update your Pay Card information in person at a California Credit Union branch or over the phone by calling the Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372.

  • How can I check the balance on my Pay Card?

    The easiest way to check your balance is by logging in to Online Banking here.
    You can also complete a balance inquiry using California Credit Union’s automated Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372, at an ATM or via Text Message. We recommend you check your balance before performing transactions so you know how much money is available on your Pay Card.

  • Can I transfer funds from my Pay Card to another account?

    You can make individual, non-recurring transfers to other accounts by calling us at (855) 528-7372 or visiting any California Credit Union branch. You will be asked for the account number, name and routing number of the account where you would like to transfer the funds and it may take up to four business days to process your transfer.

  • Can I deposit money onto the card from other sources?

    Only LAUSD payroll deposits can be put on the card; you cannot deposit funds to the Pay Card from other sources.

  • How do I use my card at a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal?

    You can make transactions at any merchant that accepts Visa debit cards. Simply swipe your card, select “credit,” and then sign for your purchase.

  • Can I get cash at a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal?

    You can get cash back when you make a purchase at any store displaying the Visa logo. Simply swipe your Pay Card when making a purchase at the cash register, enter your PIN and follow the screen prompts. When asked if you would like “Cash Back,” make sure to select “YES” and enter the specific amount you would like to receive from the cashier. You will then be charged for your original purchase and the cash amount you received from the cashier.

  • What happens if I don’t have enough money on my card to cover a purchase?

    If the transaction amount exceeds the amount on your Pay Card, your transaction will be declined. We recommend you check your balance before performing transactions so you know how much money is available in your Pay Card account.

  • Can I make purchases online?

    Yes! You can shop at any online retailer that accepts Visa. To make an online purchase, simply follow the website’s instructions for paying by credit card and select Visa as the card type when prompted. The amount of your purchase will be debited from your account.

  • What happens if I return a product I purchased with the Pay Card?

    You can return items purchased with your Pay Card. Each retailer handles returns and refunding your money differently. If a retailer credits money back to your card, it may take several business days for those funds to show up in your account. Be sure and ask the retailer for return payment details so you know the amount of time the credit will take.

  • I’ve lost my PIN; how do I get a new one? I can’t remember my PIN; can I change it?

    If you have lost or forgotten your Pay Card PIN, visit a California Credit Union branch to have a Representative issue you a new PIN. You can also call the Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372 to have a PIN reminder mailed to you. For security purposes, Representatives are not able to give you a new PIN over the phone.

  • What ATMs can I use?

    You can use these ATMs free of charge:

    - All California Credit Union ATMs

    - All CO-OP and Allpoint Network ATMs worldwide

    You can make withdrawals from any ATM that accepts CO-OP, Allpoint, Plus, or Interlink cards. However, non-CCU ATMs may place a limit on how much you can withdraw at one time. Also, be aware that only CCU, CO-OP and Allpoint Network ATMs are fee-free; other ATMs may charge a fee.

  • What’s a CO-OP or Allpoint Network ATM? How do I know if an ATM is “in-network”?

    In addition to California Credit Union ATMs, we have partnered with the CO-OP and Allpoint Networks to provide you with access to over 85,000 fee-free ATMs worldwide. These ATMs are considered “in-network.” CO-OP and Allpoint ATMs are located at other credit unions and in many popular retailers, including many 7-Eleven, Costco and Walgreens stores. Look for the CO-OP and/or Allpoint Network logo anywhere on the ATM to determine if an ATM is part of the network.

  • Where are in-network ATMs located?

    You can find a fee-free ATM near you here. You can also see the closest ATMs to you through the CCU mobile app.

  • Can I use California Credit Union branches?

    Yes, you can visit any California Credit Union branch to access your pay, ask questions, or address any concerns you may have about your Pay Card.

  • Where are California Credit Union branches?

  • How can I protect my card and PIN?
       
    • Don’t write down your PIN or keep it with your card.
       
    • Don’t tell anyone your PIN.
       
    • Do not give your card to someone else to use.
       
    • Keep your card in a safe place when not in use, such as a wallet or purse.
       
    • Keep your contact information up to date with California Credit Union. If problems arise, we may need to contact you.
       
    • Only make online purchases from websites you trust. If the website seems suspicious, it may be a scam and could make fraudulent transactions with your card information.
       
    • Inform California Credit Union immediately if your card is lost, stolen or damaged, or if you see potentially fraudulent activity in your transaction history. By notifying us as soon as possible, you may be reducing your financial liability on those transactions.
  • How can I protect my Pay Card against fraud?
    • Ensure your contact information is up to date so you can be reached if a problem arises.
    • Log in to Digital Banking or the CCU Mobile App to set up transaction alerts and card controls.
    • Copy the customer service phone number – (855) 528-7372 – from the back of your card and keep it in a separate location from your purse or wallet.
    • Watch out for ATMs that appear to have been altered. If anything on the front of the machine looks crooked, loose, or damaged, it could be a sign that someone attached a skimming device to steal your information.
    • Remember to check your balance on a regular basis to catch fraudulent transactions as soon as possible.
    • If you lose your card or someone uses your card without your permission, contact California Credit Union immediately to report the card lost or stolen, report any unauthorized transactions, and begin the resolution process.
    • California Credit Union will never ask for personal account information, such as a PIN, account number, Social Security number, or password, via e-mail or text message. Never respond to an e-mail or text message requesting personal information to verify or re-activate your card.
  • How can I report suspected fraud or dispute a transaction on my Pay Card?

    To report suspected fraud or dispute a transaction, please call our Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372 (within the U.S.) or 1 + (909) 941-1398 (outside the U.S) as soon as possible. You can also visit a California Credit Union branch, or notify us via secure email link available in Online Banking.

    Remember to check your monthly E-statement or transaction history on a regular basis to catch fraudulent transactions as soon as possible. You have 60 days from receipt of a monthly statement to dispute a transaction.

  • How do I access my funds if my card is lost or stolen?

    Please visit a California Credit Union branch if your Pay Card is lost or stolen and you need to access your funds immediately. You will be asked to provide a valid form of ID, and a representative will assist you in withdrawing available funds from your Pay Card.

  • How do I obtain a replacement Pay Card?

    Call our Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372 or visit any California Credit Union branch to order a replacement Pay Card. Your new card will arrive within 5-7 business days of the order being received. If you need the card sooner, please request expedited service to receive your new card in 2-3 business days for a cost of $10.00.

  • How do I report a lost, stolen or damaged card?

    Call our Pay Card Access System at (855) 528-7372 or visit any California Credit Union branch as soon as possible to report a lost, stolen or damaged card. You can also turn your card on/off as a security feature to prevent anyone from using your card if you suspect it is lost or stolen. Log in to Digital Banking or the CCU Mobile App and click on Card Management.

  • Does the Pay Card have a monthly service fee?

    There is no monthly fee to maintain your Pay Card.

  • Does the Pay Card have an activation fee?

    No -- there is no fee for you to enroll or activate your Pay Card.

  • Will I be charged a fee each pay day when my pay is loaded onto my Pay Card?

    No. Your entire pay is loaded onto your Pay Card for free each pay day, no matter how many times a month you are paid. Only LAUSD payroll deposits can be put on the card; you cannot independently put funds on the Pay Card.
